Friday
Left around 7 and did McDonald's drive-thru for breakfast.School Zooms were a bit tough, but the rest of the drive went pretty smoothly. Made it to SLO by 11:45?
Firestone for lunch. Not sure I'd go back; fries were meh. Sandwich was fine but $13. Buncha aggies sat wayyy too close for Covid comfort and I was pissed.
Checked in to hotel. G&C arrived shortly after. Opened Ryan's birthday presents (Spiderman stuff) in their room, then headed up to J&C's.
Tacos for dinner; lots of Justin's delicious beer. Explored Christy's garden. Freakin' Ryan destroyed a bunch of her tomatoes and a pumpkin. Ugh!
Back to hotel. Melatonin didn't seem to help with bedtime, and of course the kids ended up falling asleep late.
Saturday
Hotel breakfastWalked to Splash. Sooo windy this morning!! Only drip coffee so ended up driving and parking downtown.
Scout coffee. So stinkin hipster but so stinkin cute. Ordered a gibraltar (espresso and steamed milk) and morning bun. SO GOOD.
Walked to bubble gum alley.
Walked along creek and explored behind the restaurants. A squirrel was dropping stuff on us. Cliff got boxers which he forgot at Ross. Lots of homeless.
Emerson Park and let the kids play.
Walked back to car.
Hotel.
Avila Valley Barn with G&C. Crowded and long line to get in to market part. Fed goats etc, got a cider, then Avila beach for a bit. Also crowded so went way down bw last two piers
Picked up beer in the old Vons (?) shipping center on Foothill. It's a fancy market now. The center looks so different! Got gas then headed to pick up mobile order Splash chowder bread bowl.
Headed up to Justin's. Steven arrived that evening. Beered and watched Giants v A's. Tri tip and lots of bread for dinner. Mom and dad brought me back since Cliff left for kids' bedtime.
Sunday
Hotel breakfast.Packed up and hung out with Grammy in our room.
Kin Coffee.
Bre & Kendall's. Ada took forever to warm up but all the kids were having a blast right before it was time to go.
Lunch at Farmhouse Corner Market, near the airport. Expensive but good.
Drove home and didn't even stop. Kids kept saying they felt carsick, so I was anxious the whole time, but nobody barfed. Made it home around 4:30ish and had left at noon? Slight traffic in Santa Barbara and LA but nothing terrible.
