Boise/Meridian, Idaho - June 2021

Sunday 6/27

Stopped at Huntington children's hospital to drop goodies off for the Framness fam.

Flew out of Santa Ana in the afternoon; flight delayed a bit but not too bad. I sat with the kids and Cliff sat behind us. They did pretty good.
Kevin picked us up. Dinner at their house. Cliff held Ella and put her to sleep.
Checked into our air bnb about 7 min away. It's a little tacky/cheap decor like so many rental places. But it seems clean and just the right size for a place you don't expect to hang out much at.

Monday

Then to Amy & Kevin's. They got a giant bounce house w/ waterslide for the day. It helped with the 104* heat. The kids mostly did that while the adults sat around/ate & drank all day. There was soo much food for lunch and dinner.

Tuesday

Met up with Sydney Giannell and kiddos at Deja Brew Laugh a Latte (such a dumb name) for breakfast. Food was alright; the Bill Murray americano was disappointing; maybe it just needed cream?? supposed to be Irish Breve with cinnamon. I guess the Breve was just syrup. Cliff's spicy mexican mocha (Groundhog's Day) was good though. It was really good to catch up with Syd. I wish we lived closer so we could talk deconstruction stuff. Her kids are hilarious and adorable. Anyway, I would go back to that place esp cuz it's good for kids cuz of the outdoor area with nearby fountain.

Grabbed donuts at Sweet Sensations to bring to Amy/Kevin's. Kevin had to work all day. We mostly sat around; I got to hold Ella and put her to sleep. Eeeee! Cliff and Molly set up the small jumpy Amy had, so the kids did that off and on. Leftovers for lunch, then empanadas for dinner. Mixup in location so Cliff had to drive into Boise to get our order. I liked the fillings, but the dough was kinda bubbly.

By this day, Kyla and Bella had caught Emrie's cold and we didn't see them at all cuz they were lying in bed all day on their phones. Ada was also for sure getting sick. Penelope and Ella both took huge naps that day.

Ada lost a tooth! It had been loose the whole trip and she almost sneezed it out a few times.

Cliff and I read/he played Every Word on my Kindle sitting out on an uncomfortable homemade bench in the backyard. Nice clouds for sunset.

Wednesday

Packed up and checked out of our airbnb. Stopped at Lucky Perk. Good coffee (coconut syrup in my latte) but sausage breakfast wrap was gross. Went over to Amy & Kevin's. Waited around til it was time for Amy to take us to the airport. We sat on the plane for an extra 30?? min cuz there was no one to load our luggage into the plane. Flight went pretty well; Cliff sat with the kids. We didn't have a full flight, which was nice. Girl next to me with baby got to spread out. Southwest seems to have so many delay issues, but I like that it's kind of the family-friendly airline.

Stopped at Wendy's on drive back; poor Ada wasn't really eating much at this point and fell asleep briefly on the way home.
