Thursday
- Drive: unpleasant cuz kids fought and complainedTropicali
- Bowling (Ryan begged us) to kill time while waiting to check in
- Crepes, coffee from Café Crêpe
- Library etc closed for veterans day
- Ate crepes for two min outside but kids fought, dusty
- Playground
- Cabin. Overall nice, and the backyard is huge and perfect for kiddos; lots of huge fell tree trunks. trampoline says no guests?? Hairs and dirt on the couch. Poor lighting in front room.
- Yummy tacos for dinner from 909 Taqueria ate at home.
- Started movie "Vivo"
Friday
- Dank Donuts, for breakfast burritos and donuts
- Back to house
- Nature/Discovery Center (inside closed by NBD cuz outside/trails were still fun). We stayed for maybe two hours?! Loved watching the area with bird feeders that attracted chickadees and others. The kids played in the kids' area several times, and we walked the trails etc.
- Grabbed burgers to go at Get the Burger. That place is fine; nothing special. Ate at home.
- Hot tub.
- Started movie that we didn't finish; a dutch one called Claus Family.
- Kids trampolined and played with the toys at the house; I read magazines.
- Walked around downtown; went to big store with various stalls.
- Ate dinner at Masala Craft. REALLY good. We had been there on our babymoon.
- Finished "Vivo"
- After kids in bed watched Great British Bakeoff. This place had Netflix etc. but TV-wise was just weird internet channels?? like Bon Appetit.
Saturday
- Leftover burritos from Dank Donuts.
- Packed up and left.
- Got more donuts at a not-good place called OJ's Donuts. Dank is sooo much better and had decent coffee, unlike this place. Thank God we had leftover tidbits from Dank still in a bag in our car.
- The drive was okay; gave Ryan Dramamine right away since windy part was first part. He said he didn't feel good after like 45 min so pulled over. Got home around 10:30ish.
I don't love Big Bear; think I prefer Idyllwild. I would go back, but maybe in summer, early fall, or snowy time. And I like the last house we stayed at better, but that has been off and on the 'market' of airbnb. I loved having that trail out our backyard! And the house was nicer. But it sure was awesome that there were SOOO many toys at this place! The kids found a ton more under the bunk beds.
