“A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.” —John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America

Mission trip
Justin and Christy had a super-early flight, so we said goodbye to them the night before. We had a few hours to kill before our flight, so we drove to Mission San Jose a little ways away (after getting coffee at a bad coffee shop!) in the hopes that Ada would nap before the plane ride. No such luck. The mission was pretty, though hard to appreciate in that heat. Ada actually fell asleep on the way to the airport, and she got a good mini nap in while we drove around and around the terminal while Cliff checked us in to speed things along once she woke up. We said goodbye to Grammy and Pop-Pop and crossed our fingers that our flight wouldn't be full. We lucked out by having an empty seat in our row. Woohoo! I know 3 hours isn't THAT long of a flight, toddlers can be tricky. We sure had a good time in Texs, but it was good to be back in our own beds. And I actually put on a sweater when we exited the airport. :O
